Course Description: The midwifery program train students to work in women’s health by developing actions of care and health promotion, especially during prenatal care, vaginal delivery, and postpartum.

The professionals trained by the program can assist pregnant women, newborns, and communities, thus contributing to the reduction of maternal mortality and rates of operative deliveries.

They can work in maternity hospitals, birthing centers, natural delivery centers, outpatient clinics, clinics, health units, homes, and in public and private health institutions, besides working with teaching and research development.
